What is a little sitter session?
Little sitter sessions are exactly what is says on the tin! These sessions are designed to capture the first big milestone in your babies life ~ being able to sit up all by themselves! And what a fabulous stage it is to have professional portraits taken!
When to book a little sitter session?
Typically when babies are aged between 6-10 months old and they are able to sit unassisted but not yet able to crawl or walk, is the most perfect time for a little sitter session! And here’s why!
At this stage babies are often super smiley, playful and curious of everything around them and this is what i LOVE to capture! Their own little unique personalities are beginning to show and they are a world away, it seems, from that teeny tiny newborn they were just a few months ago! This is why i feel that little sitter sessions are such an important milestone to capture! From when your baby is a newborn up until their first birthday, they will change sooooo much! And once this stage is over, there’s no going back, unless off course you have beautiful portraits to look back on, that capture this stage in your baby’s life forever
Make it a family affair!
At CA Neil Photography, we encourage mum’s, dad’s & siblings to get involved too! Because as amazing as it is to capture your little one on his/her own with lots of adorable little outfits and props, its also super important to include their loved ones. The place where your baby feels most safe and content – in your arms. Family portraits are included in every little sitter session
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions take place at my spacious studio based in Gartcosh, North Lanarkshire. I welcome families from Gartcosh, Coatbridge, Airdrie, Glasgow, Hamilton, Motherwell, Edinburgh and beyond!
My studio is fully equipped with a beautiful selection of bespoke clothing and props that i have sourced from designers around the world. During your styling consultation we will discuss what you like so that we can choose items that you will love! And off course, you are welcome to bring your own clothing/accessories if you wish! If your baby has a favourite snuggly or you have a sentimental item you would like incorporated into your session, perfect!
What do i need to bring to the session?
You don’t have to bring much with you! Just pack your bag as you usually would for a day out. Spare nappies, wipes, milk (if bottle feeding) and perhaps some snacks for little one, is perfect. If older children are attending also, then perhaps a game/book/tablet to keep them busy while i capture some portraits of baby. Or if they are feeling a little more energetic, they can visit the bunnies in my garden (Oliver & Apple love their little visits from clients!) or take a walk with dad to the local park only 5 minutes walk away
What happens after my session?
After your session, i will select 20 beautiful images to professionally retouch for your viewing gallery. Approximately 2 weeks after your session you will be invited back to my studio to view your finished gallery for the first time! And it is at this time you will be able to select your favourite images and decide which collection you would like to order
How do i book a little sitter session?
When you have decided that you would like to book a session or if you have some questions first, you can complete the contact form and i will be in touch within 24 hours. I am always happy to discuss any requirements and ideas you have, so that together we can create the perfect portrait session for your family!
